Dr Jen Martin

Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori licensed translator (education sector)

Jen is a Māori language consultant and researcher based in Auckland. She is also an accomplished Māori language practitioner with over 15 years of teaching experience. Jen has taught in both the tertiary sector at AUT and Auckland University, and in the corporate sector through the language consultancy she co-directs, Pae Tū Ltd.

Jen credits her passion for te reo Māori and Māori language revitalisation to her own education. She experienced the benefits of bilingualism first-hand through her education at Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Hoani Waititi Marae.

As a result, much of Jen’s work today – in teaching, research and consulting – seeks to meaningfully advance Māori aspirations.
